Short but sweet steam railway
Strathspey Railway的点评
点评：Whilst not a very long journey, the Strathspey Steam Railway takes you to three well preserved and pretty stations and past stunning scenery.
The dining cars and first class carriages looked lovely and those packages looked reasonably priced. We’ll definitely look at doing that next time.
We were in a standard carriage, which had really useful & informative double sided information boards on the tables. We took advantage of the cafe at the station and onboard trolley for hot drinks and snacks. I loved that you actually get an old fashioned ticket to keep as a souvenir.
You get ten minutes or so at each station, enough time to hop out and take sone photos or have a comfort stop and at each end there’s time to see the steam engine changing ends too.
The line has seen an increase in attention since featuring in The Traitors Uk & Celebrity edition and they’ve also highlighted that the station is mentioned in Harry Potter & The Cursed Child - fair play to them, I say. Anything that helps draw more people to this beautiful railway to fund the continued preservation is great. There’s a lovely shop with themed gifts to browse before and after your journey too.
