Giant Buddha in the cliff, a must see near Chengdu

点评：Wow, seeing the Giant Buddha in real life is something else. The scale is crazy, the head alone is huge and you can stand right next to it at the top of the cliff. Carved into the red rock with moss and plants growing all over, it feels really ancient and powerful. Great view over the river too, where the boats pass by below.
There is much more than just the Buddha. The walk through Lingyun Temple is beautiful, with golden Buddha halls, red columns, old pavilions and the smiling Maitreya carved in a red niche. The paths through the bamboo forest and the white marble stairs are very peaceful, and we even found a small cave carved into the rock.
Tip: go early or on a weekday, it gets crowded and there can be a queue for the stairs down to the feet. Wear comfortable shoes, lots of steps. A must see if you are in Chengdu, very easy day trip. Highly recommend :)

小贴士：建议清晨或工作日前往，不然人会很多，下到山脚的楼梯处也可能会排起长队。一定要穿舒适的鞋子，因为台阶很多。如果你在成都，这里绝对值得一游，是个非常轻松的一日游目的地。强烈推荐 ：）
