Active England的点评
点评：We had a lot of issues with this experience. After walking 13.5 miles the first day we were placed at a B&B that was in the middle of nowhere with no place to eat. We had to take a taxi to and from another town to get something to eat. We placed in a B&B where we had to share bathrooms. The people who owned the B&B were very nice but the place wasn’t clean and sharing the bathroom was not acceptable. After the amount we paid. Active England did give me a $100 refund. I have been unable to check my credit card to see whether or not it actually occurred.
All of the hiking when much longer than our itinerary, and very few of the B&Bs were clean and nice. We did have a couple that were nice. There were also some of the B&Bs that had no food and we were expected to take a taxi to find food. After walking all day, this really isn’t acceptable. We either need to have restaurants close to us or available food at our B&B.
Twice our luggage was very late. One evening it was 8 o’clock. We had walked all day in the rain and we were filthy and wet. Another day it was 6 o’clock and again we were tired and filthy. Active England did give us free drinks the evening we didn’t get our luggage until six. We weren’t sure that the communication we were receiving from active. England was accurate because they told us one thing and then the courier or the B&B owners would tell us something else.
We have arranged these types of hikes ourselves on the Camino and we found it to be a much better experience. Our experience was that active England does not appear to understand the walking/hiking business.
We did not see our guide after the very first day. He told us that he would not be available to us after that.
