Something smells fishy

点评：We booked a fishing charter with high expectations after confirming ahead of time that it was a good season to catch fish. We specifically asked what we could expect to catch because we weren’t familiar with the area, and were reassured that fishing would be good.
Unfortunately, that was not the case at all. There had been a cold snap the week prior, and the fish were clearly not biting. We later found out this had already been the experience for previous trips as well, so this was not a surprise to the captain. Instead of being honest about the poor conditions and giving us the option to reschedule or cancel, they went ahead with the trip anyway.
What we ended up with was a very expensive boat ride with no real fishing success. The bait provided looked like frozen grocery store fish and was barely used. It did not feel like a professional or well-prepared fishing experience.
The most disappointing part was how the situation was handled afterward. Captain Brian agreed to provide a $300 refund due to the circumstances. However, weeks passed with no refund, and now weeks later he went back on his word, claiming he didn’t make any money on the trip—which is hard to believe given the minimal fuel usage and overall setup.
This experience felt dishonest and unprofessional. A bad fishing day can happen, but lack of transparency and failure to honor a promised refund is unacceptable. I would not recommend booking with this company
