Top class zoo, excellent cafe too

点评：This is a must-do when visiting Letterkenny! As a family of three young animal-loving children, this provided huge scope for entertainment.
There are so many different animals to see and learn about. The complex is laid out as a series of walks or circuits, arranged thematically. It begins with a reptile and insect house, followed by a very unexpected butterfly house which was fascinating. The zoo seems to specialise in exotic birds and small species of monkey, and these were so entertaining.
The animals’ enclosures are generously sized and filled with lots of healthy vegetation, and the animals were busily eating lots of fresh fruit, vegetables and even wriggly live insects which had been placed in their feeders. Everywhere was spotlessly clean, from the animals’ enclosures to the humans’ facilities.
Our children were particularly taken with the Pygmy marmosets, which were adorable. They also loved the cockatoos who were very interactive, especially Milo who can talk and who asked us “what’s the craic?”
There is a soft play area too, which was a nice bonus, and a small shop where you can buy snacks and ice creams and toys. There are indoor and outdoor seating areas.
There is a nursery and a cafe running alongside the zoo. We went to the cafe and the coffee was excellent. We also had a toasted sandwich and chips, both delicious. All of the food looked fresh and tasty, and if I hadn’t already eaten an ice cream I would have been very tempted by the lovely looking pastries and cakes. It was justifiably packed when we arrived, mainly with locals, but we managed to get a seat.
Highly recommend this place, and make sure to try the cafe too.

这里还有一个软体游乐区，算是个不错的额外福利；另有一个小商店，可以购买零食、冰淇淋和玩具。园内设有室内外休息区。
动物园旁边还设有一家托儿所和一家咖啡馆。我们去了咖啡馆，那里的咖啡非常出色。我们还点了烤三明治和薯条，都十分美味。所有的食物看起来都新鲜可口。要是我没吃过冰淇淋的话，那些看起来超诱人的糕点肯定会让我心动不已。我们到那儿时店里人头攒动，大多是当地人，不过我们还是成功找到了座位。
强烈推荐这个地方，一定要也去尝尝他们的咖啡哦。
