点评:Yol Valley, or Vulture Canyon, was included as part of our tour of Mongolia. The road up to the valley is your fairly standard Mongolia off-road experience. At the start of the site, there was plenty of parking and some locals selling crafts etc.
The valley itself starts off like something from the movie The Land That Time Forgot (I kept expecting to see a diplodocus walk past!), then it starts to become more rugged and steep with rocks on either side. You'll see plenty of wildlife - from small guinea pig-like rodents that dart about, to the eagle that we saw up on the cliff edge.
You can hike a fair old distance - there was no ice when we were there and the river itself weaves its way through the valley. There's one part, a fair way down, where people needed to help each other down through the river and over the rocks - you can still experience the valley without having to go that far. There's also the option to pay for a horse-back ride from one of the locals too.
