Aescher – Gasthaus am Berg的点评
点评：Aescher is one of those places that looks even more impressive in person than in photos. Dramatically tucked against the sheer cliffs of Ebenalp, this historic mountain guesthouse has been around in its present form since 1860 and is said to be one of the oldest mountain inns in Switzerland. Getting there is part of the experience — after taking the cable car up to Ebenalp, it is about a 20 minute downhill walk through the fascinating Wildkirchli caves before reaching Aescher. (Aescher)
The menu itself is simple and traditional, but you really come here for the spectacular setting and atmosphere. Sitting beneath the towering rock face while enjoying the beautiful Alpine scenery is something quite special.
Definitely one of the highlights of our visit to Appenzell and well worth the trip. Highly recommended, especially on a clear day. The way back to Ebenalp cable car station is more tiring as it is uphill.
