点评：No real change since my 2022 review. The Wolfgangsee Schiffahrt boats provide a useful and very pleasant way of getting around the Wolfgangsee. The route between St Wolfgang and St Gilgen is particularly useful as it would otherwise be necessary to walk or to go three-quarters of the way around the lake by road to make the same journey, and it also enters the most attractive upper end of the lake.
The well-run boats provide excellent views of the shores and surrounding mountains.
The crews are thoroughly professional about coping with the large numbers of swimmers, paddleboarders, etc, often in the water around the Schiffahrt's landing places, and the longer-distance swimmers sometimes to be found mid-lake.
Some reviewers have commented that the prices seem high, but the fact is that Austria is a high-wage economy and a labour-intensive seasonal operation like this will naturally be expensive to run.
During part of July and August the 19th-century paddle-boat 'Kaiser Franz Joseph I' operates some sailings, providing a particularly pleasant journey at a very modest E1.50 supplement to the usual fares.
