点评:A good but compromised experience. Upon arrival you have to pay for parking, £3, which although not much it’s a bit cheeky when the package is already very expensive. On check in you’re then told you’re liable for the first £5,000 of damage unless you pay an extra £44, I outright refused, this is something that should be covered already! I was then told to attend a secret briefing at 14:00. This lasted until perhaps 14:10 we were then told to head to an area by the track where a member of staff was reading names from a computer screen and calling out drivers names when it was their turn, it was windy, loud with the cars, everyone was bunched up within hearing range and it was generally confusing. A much better system would have been a text message when it was your turn instructing you to go to a numbered bay where the car you selected would be ready to go, it could even tell you the wait time and where you are in the list. I was waiting for approximately 50 minutes, seriously starting to worry that my name has been missed off or I just hadn’t heard so may have missed my turn! Anyway, I was called and went to the first car, it was a Porsche 911. I was then given a brief instruction of the track layout and controls, however it is very unnatural to get in to a car you’ve never driven before and immediately drive it fast. A much better process would be to have a practice lap or two where you could cruise around slower, get used to the feel and controls, before racing it for the 3 laps you have booked, I’m sure it would lower the risk of damage to the cars and make it much more enjoyable as you could actually focus on racing. As it was only 3 laps so you’re barely familiar with the braking distances, acceleration etc by the time you’re exiting the track - so it felt a little rushed. The track itself was marked by cones, this made it very difficult to concentrate on racing, instead you’re spending half the time figuring out the route and trying to avoid hitting cones. It was about a 10 min wait for my next car, the 1965 mustang and that was much more enjoyable, mainly because I had an idea of the track layout by this point. You are offered an extra lap, however it is an extra £14 per lap! So, overall it was a good experience but a bit confusing waiting and rushed once you actually get behind the wheel. Perhaps more suitable for kids than adults with driving experience hoping to get a buzz from racing - money would be better spent on hiring an actual super car for the day and cruising around in it on the road.
