Friends meet up for quiz.
The Cottage Tavern的点评
点评：Our best friends were visiting for their yearly Christmas shopping from Southampton so we arranged to meet and take part in a quiz at the cottage tavern in Cleadon village. The tavern is old fashioned, bevelled glassed with a log fire, not too large but hosts bands, football games and the quiz.
We arrived before 8pm and the stand in quizmaster explained the format of the picture quiz, main quiz, bingo and sticky cards games. Entry is £1 per person for each thing you enter. (No limit per person per team by the looks of it). The pub was about half full and the atmosphere was good. Our expectations for the quiz itself was middle to bottom placed based on previous quizzes, so to finish 2nd (don’t mention the soap operas Doctors and Crossroads!) and to receive a bottle of wine was way above our best expectations!
We were there for 2 hours plus. Barmaid was good, prices were okay, fire was lovely and toilets good.
Unfortunately the door nearest us was used by customers sharing a cigarette which apart from the smell the room cooled quickly as they smoked.
A pub where regulars stand out but we we’re welcome as we had been in other visits.

我们在那里待了两个多小时。酒保服务很好，价格也合理，壁炉很舒服，洗手间也不错。
可惜的是，离我们最近的那扇门被几位顾客用来抽烟，除了烟味之外，房间里的温度也随着他们的吸烟迅速下降。
