House of Heads的点评
点评：The House of Heads is one of the first eye catching buildings we saw in Colmar during our day trip from Strasbourg. It was built in 1609 and has over 100 heads carved around the exterior and we spent around 10 minutes in the area. At the top of the house is a sculpture from Auguste Bartholdi.
You can walk into the courtyard of this building for free and there is a fine dining restaurant and a nice hotel inside. This area of Colmar's old town was not that busy but we visited on Christmas Day with the markets open and there were some areas that were very busy.
We visited during the early afternoon and at night and would say both times are worthwhile if you have the time because during the daylight you can see all the details but at night there is projection lighting on the House of Heads. It is a short walk from here to the tourist information centre and many other popular sites in Colmar's Old Town. This house is also about a 15 minute walk from Colmar's Train Station.
