点评：It is likely that few non-Europeans get to visit the small Netherlands town of Zutphen and even fewer choose to go outside the town to see the Boer Kip museum. We heartily recommend it. The old farmhouse is an amazing place, a piece of history in itself, but it is usually only open weekends, so please check the opening days and hours.
Farmer Herman Kip lived a reclusive lifestyle and, quite late in life, devoted himself to what he loved most - his own brand of art, painting not only on canvas, but decorating the furniture in his home, his dishes, jugs, milk cans, teapots .... well, anything that had a paint-able surface. He sold nothing, as that would mean selling his memories, so every room of the house is crowded with artworks, much of it in the naive style.
On his death, he willed his home and contents to the town, on the understanding that nothing would be changed. It is all there to see.
We Aussies were made so welcome by the charming, hard-working volunteers that we felt like royalty. We thank them for their hospitality and recommend that anyone touring near Zutphen should take the time to visit dear old Herman's home and witness his love affair with art. And do have a cup of coffee and slice of delicious apple cake.
