Seaweed Soup Beach but Five‑Star Massage

点评：The meeting point is pretty far from the dock. The owner met us and explained that the beach had seaweed with a slight smell and asked if we wanted a refund. We decided to go ahead and try the beach anyway.
The food was great. The drinks were great. The massage was amazing—truly the best massage I’ve ever had. My only complaint is that I wish I had chosen the full hour. The staff was friendly and polite, and the grounds were beautiful. There were plenty of items available for free, from paddleboards to sand toys.
Now for the negatives: the pool is far too small. I wouldn’t even mention that, but let’s be honest—the beach is not usable. It smells bad and looks like seaweed soup stretching hundreds of feet out. This makes the paddleboards useless unless you want to fall into seaweed soup.
I actually enjoyed the long bus ride because I got to see areas you normally don’t, but it is a long, bumpy ride. I liked the small private spots for each group, but some had cute chalkboards with welcome messages and ours did not. It made me feel like we weren’t as special.
With all that said, Costa Maya is my least favorite beach. I usually stay on the ship. I would go back again—just for another massage. That massage alone could convince me to wade through the seaweed soup, survive the bumpy bus ride, and pretend the pool isn’t the size of a large bathtub. It was that good.
