点评：I had an incredible birding experience at Mabamba Swamp in Uganda, and it truly exceeded my expectations! If you are visiting Uganda and love nature or birdwatching, this is an absolute must-do experience.
The highlight of my trip was spotting the famous shoebill at the beautiful Mabamba Bay Wetland System. Seeing this rare and prehistoric-looking bird in its natural habitat was something I will never forget. The peaceful canoe ride through the narrow water channels surrounded by papyrus reeds created a calm and magical atmosphere. It felt like stepping into another world.
A big thank you to Ronnie, our fantastic local guide, who made the entire experience even more special. Ronnie was knowledgeable, patient, and very passionate about birds and conservation. He knew exactly where to find the shoebill and other bird species, and he shared so much interesting information about the ecosystem and local community. His sharp eyes helped us spot several other beautiful birds along the way, making it a paradise for photography and bird lovers.
The early morning trip was well worth it. The sunrise over the swamp was breathtaking, and the cool breeze made the canoe ride comfortable and relaxing. Ronnie ensured we had the best viewing angles and enough time to take photos without disturbing the wildlife. I appreciated how respectful he was toward nature and how he explained the importance of protecting the wetland.
The entire trip was well organized, safe, and very authentic. The local canoe operators were friendly and skilled, navigating smoothly through the swamp channels. I felt secure and comfortable throughout the experience.
