Maha'ulepu Heritage Trail的点评
点评：The trail begins near the Grand Hyatt, so it is especially convenient for guests staying there. For those not staying nearby, there is a small parking lot near Shipwreck Beach. This trail basically consists of a bunch of unmarked, unpaved paths. Many of these paths link or merge. Some of the paths are parallel to each other. The easiest thing to do is pick the paths that are following the coastline (or just simply download the AllTrails app beforehand). This is a relatively easy hike over uneven, variable terrain with plenty of rocks. I don’t recommend wearing flip-flops. You will see lithified sand dunes and sandstone limestone pinnacles. You will also cross some beachy areas. Also there is a short segment of the trail in which one has to walk on the edge of the Poipu Bay golf course where there are unbothered nene and cattle egrets. Trail is mostly unshaded. I recommend hiking early in the morning to avoid the intense sun. Views are gorgeous. One can see shearwater and soaring white-tailed tropicbirds. It is approximately 3.9 miles round trip.
