Guided tour of the bunker - well worth a visit

点评：Took a bunch of aviation buddies to visit the RAF Bunker at Uxbridge. We had planned to receive our tour from local guide and author (of book Enemy Sighted) Dilip Amin. We arrived early to have a look around the visitors centre onsite and grab a coffee in the cafe.
The visitors centre is an excellent space and showcases two amazing replicas of the Spitfire and Hurricane hanging from the ceiling. Uxbridge Council have done a truly superb job with this venue and should be applauded for that. There is also a status display outside of a Spitfire & Hurricane and do not miss the Sir Keith Park statue in the car park.
Dilip's tour and presentation was absolutely brilliant. He didn't just speak about the history of the bunker and the players in this incredible story but performed the parts as well. His passion for the subject is superior and his personal enthusiasm for his subject exudes for all to see. I would highly recommend a bunker tour hosted by Dilip if you can be there at the right time.
We had a great tour of the bunker and learned a great deal about the history of the Battle of Britain and the role 11 Group played in that decisive victory against the Luftwaffe in WW2.
