Picturesque views, but many changes needed to improve visitor comfort. Booking system for trams was not efficient.

点评：It was fairly straightforward to book tickets online. However, we did this the night before and there were limited amounts of tickets left. Many of the earlier/more convenient time slots were unavailable due to being fully booked. We would recommend getting on at Le Fayet (instead of the Saint Gervais stop) as the tram starts there so you have more chance of getting a seat. Didn’t like waiting for our tram in the blistering heat as there was no shade provided. The tram filled up a lot. Seats were small, hard and uncomfortable. Due to the volume of passengers, we had strangers squashed in the seats next to and opposite us. It was a hot day, so all of this made the journey uncomfortable and quite unpleasant at times. In my opinion, they shouldn’t sell as many tickets. It was about an hour’s journey to the top (Nid D’Aigle). The views during the tram ride and at the top of the mountain were lovely, picturesque and very scenic.
Annoyingly as soon as passengers disembarked the train, everyone was in an immediate queue to purchase timed tickets for the return journey back down the mountain. This system was very inefficient and restrictive. Due to other time slots selling out, we had no option but to book onto the last train of the day. This meant we had to spend longer at Mont Blanc than intended. I don’t know why people can’t book return journeys online, at the time of initially booking the experience - very frustrating!
There were a lack of facilities at the top. One small eatery serving a limited menu. Two ‘portaloo’ style freestanding toilets which looked poor quality. No gift shop for souvenirs. The terrain was obviously rocky, but you couldn’t easily do any walking to explore the area unless going up or down steep/uneven paths.
We realised after booking that you are not guaranteed a seat on the tram in busy periods. For the journey back, we had to stand which was not ideal. Partway, an additional tram was added to enable passengers from our tram to move onto another one and get a seat. This made the remaining journey much more comfortable and enjoyable.

预订之后我们才意识到，在旅游旺季时并不能保证能坐上缆车。至于返程时……我们不得不站着，这并不理想。途中，又增开了一辆有轨电车，以便我们这辆车上的乘客能够转移到另一辆车上并找到座位。这样一来，接下来的旅程就舒适愉快多了。
