Lovely afternoon in a stunning garden

点评：Goodness what a treat this place is for someone who appreciates a beautiful mature garden and a lovely cup of tea!
I spent a lovely afternoon here, the cafe is super (and you can use it without paying to visit the gardens) and they have some glorious plants for sale. I had a delicious quiche salad for lunch, reasonably priced and very nicely presented with salad coleslaw and new potatoes , and later a generous pot of roibos tea - under £3 for the pot but beware, if you want non-dairy milk there is a surcharge (this does annoy me a little I will be honest) . There is an excellent selection of cake too, although I didn't try it. the surroundings for the terrace where I sat for my tea is utterly delightful. I had a good walk - there are plenty of accessible paths but also lovely arboretum trails) and totted up almost 3 miles in total. The kitchen gardens are stunning .
Every member of staff I met was very kind and helpful. I thoroughly recommend this for a visit, it's accessible for the most part, dog friendly and would probably even suit a family with children as there is plenty of running about space in the wider gardens. I spent at least 3 hours here and it was worth the £9.50 admission. There is also an artist in residence which I thought was a wonderful touch, and her art is beautiful too (Lino prints mainly)
