点评:Did the short stepping stones hike. We decided to go down using the steps and come up the hill on the way back. Easily found parking in the main car park (there is the national trust store where you can pay by card - or the just park app) otherwise it’s cash only at the parking machine.
Refreshments and toilets available in the store and main centre. Good signage for the various hikes/trails too. We didn’t have much time so did the short stepping stones hike. You can either go down the hill or the steps. We decided to go down the steps and came across people coming up the steps struggling. The stepping stones at the bottom over the river are nice - lots of small children and pets cooling off in the river. We then followed the route to come up the hill! Yikes that was steep and a real struggle even for my fit young boys!! We made it up in the end but it’s definitely much steeper than I expected and not for the faint hearted! There are probably longer hikes which means less steep incline but if you do the short stepping stones hike then the hill back up is brutal. We really did deserve the ice cream once we got back up to the visitor centre.
