点评:Whilst I accept that the walk up Mam Tor is worthwhile even when there's a 45mph gusty wind blowing, I'm afraid the car park payment system is the most difficult I have ever come across!
I am a member of NT for Scotland so should be able to park for free at this NT car park however the machines do not scan NTS cards and the indication that there are ANPR cameras suggested that leaving NTS cards on the dashboard would probably lead to a parking fine. Cash or Card payments on site are not possible. Alternatives are phone or log into a Parking App but not any regularly used App like Ringo or PaybyPhone it has to be JustPark!
I tried the phone number but no success with the recorded message system so I downloaded the App but could not get it to accept the NTS card or to recognise the location for payment by card.
Finally I phoned again and went through the payment of minimum £6 parking charge by card completing the process by texting reg number to verify payment.
Maximum stress spoiled the otherwise good experience.
Is there any wonder that people have been preferring to park along the roadside when it's so difficult to use the car park?
