点评:Where to begin, I lived in Trent Park for 9 years growing up , the house is so familiar to me , the restoration they have done is magnificent . The basement where the listening exhibits are even has the original red floor paint , it’s been lovingly restored everywhere with such wonderful attention to detail . From wall hangings to donated original furniture it really felt like stepping back in time . I would obviously have liked to go to the upper floors to reminisce about their appearance , most of this was offices and lecture rooms , but also back stair cases for staff originally .
The outside also has been beautifully cleaned up and the swimming pool area and orangery are pristine as they always were .
It was sad to see my old house so derelict but I’m guessing it’s listed and will be renovated as the stable block was .
It’s a walk from the car park but it’s a beautiful walk , although I was sad to see all the pollarded trees have been left to grow , it was a very impressive lead up to the main house. It’s a very interesting museum and a lovely place to visit on many levels .
The cafe is very good , it does get busy but it’s worth the weight .
The guides are very knowledgable and the staff very helpful if you have queries .
