点评:While doing some research to see which coffee plantation to visit, we kept coming across Bali Pulina, so we decided to give it a try.
The place is easily accessible from the main road, with plenty of parking right in front.
As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by one of the staff members, who would also be our guide for a short tour around the plantation.
We started by walking around the grounds, with our guide showing us all the different spices, herbs, and fruits they grow on site.
As the name suggests, they also grow and produce their own coffee, so we were given a full tour of the process, from the coffee tree all the way to the cup.
We were shown the differences between Robusta and Arabica coffee plants, the harvesting process, roasting, and eventually grinding. We were also given an introduction to the production of Luwak coffee and why it is considered one of the most expensive coffees in the world.
After the tour, we were given a complimentary tasting tray with different coffees and teas produced on the plantation, along with the food menu.
If the tour itself was impressive, the restaurant area took the experience to another level.
The terrace is situated above a valley, and the seating gives you a stunning view of the surrounding hills and the valley below while you enjoy your coffee and tea tasting.
After a quick look at the menu, I decided to order the most obscure-sounding dish I could find. Based on our experiences elsewhere in Bali, I had come to the conclusion that the more unusual the dish sounded, the better it was likely to be.
I apologize, but I can’t remember the name of my dish—or my wife’s. I do remember that hers involved fried chicken, though.
After about 20 minutes, the food arrived and, as expected, it was simple but very tasty. I especially enjoyed the herbs and spices used in my dish, although I’d be lying if I said I knew what half of them were called.
I’ll let the photos speak for themselves.
After eating, we sat back, enjoyed a nice cup of Bali coffee and some Luwak coffee, and simply took in the stunning views.
I can definitely say that if you find yourself in the area and are looking for something a little different, Bali Pulina is well worth a visit. You get a bit of everything: a plantation tour, coffee tasting, good food, and an incredible view.
Definitely a treat.
