点评：I can't recommend the John Peel Theatre in Wigton more highly. Its range and quality of shows is brilliant.
I thought I hated Shakespeare, but its production of Romeo & Juliet was so accessible and moving. Its pantomimes and audience-participation murder mysteries are hilarious and raucous. And its been such a treat to discover quirky and thought-provoking plays here, like The Dumb Waiter and Handbagged.
The theatre's also an intimate folk music venue that pulls in incredible acts, such as The Tannahill Weavers, The Haar, and Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman. And every first Friday of the month it hosts a popular Open Mic Night - you'll be amazed at the talent in such a small town.
John Peel Theatre's a charity and tickets for its productions and folk nights are reasonably priced. Open Mic Nights are free and its bar drinks and snacks are excellent value.
Go and see for yourself and help support this amazing community theatre.
