An Unreal Diving Experience
Statia Divers的点评
点评：Imagine the perfect dive experience. Then visit Statia Diving at The Golden Rock Resort and that will be exceeded threefold. You start by having your gear picked up in advance to have it ready on the boat for you, so you don’t have to worry about it. The next morning, you arrive at the clean and professional dive shop, where you meet Sander, who has been promptly communicating with you in anticipation of your visit. You hop in the transport and in 20 minutes you arrive at the dock, where the boat awaits you.
We met our guides, Andrea, Bruno and Baylee and they were enthusiastic about diving right from the start. They clearly communicated what to expect on the trip; this was important as it was my wife’s first dive trip away from home. Our guide for the week was Andrea and he was deeply knowledgeable about the local history, sea life and the geology that define the beauty of the Statia Marine reserve. He was very receptive to questions and made my wife feel extremely comfortable on what could have been a stressful situation for her. He was also considerate- when another guest revealed how sea sick he was they brought the boat into the harbor to give him a break on surface interval. I surely blow through my tank too quickly - he switched me to a larger tank and planned dives that helped balance that with the group. It was the extra mile and we all noticed.
The Captain was friendly as well and always helped us make a safe reentry to the boat. You could tell he was safety conscious and shared stories about local life and what was happening in the harbor.
In all, I would press six stars above if I could. It was our first Caribbean dive trip (we usually dive in New England) and it really shaped our opinion on how easy diving can be. From their valet service to close integration with the resort, this is a truly professional operation and this will be the high bar we measure all future trips by. Unless we come back, that is…
