点评:We knew this was one of the best places to see Red Squirrels, so thought we'd give it a go. We parked in town, almost at the start of the boardwalk, and walked by the side of the river to the end of the boardwalk, then back along the paved path above the river, to the start. You can access it at various points along the way and you can walk further to the reservoir.
We didn't see any litter. There were a variety of people, including dog walkers and birdwatchers, and even visitors from Australia, but I agree there are few places to sit and enjoy being in nature, and those there are, are not fit to sit on. There are supposed to be sculptures as well, but we didn't see any.
It's a pleasant walk that doesn't take long. Birdlife and squirrels are not guaranteed, although someone does feed the squirrels by a particular tree, and some people were prepared to wait (no seats). We didn't see any, but did see a rat and a few birds.
We enjoyed the walk and I would recommend it without raising expectations, especially if in the area anyway, which we were.
