点评:We made a last minute decision to visit today on a random day off work. We thought we’d have to book a tour but couldn’t see anything on the NT app or website. We just turned up and received a very warm welcome and were told that there was a tour starting in a couple of minutes. Our tour guide Ian was very friendly and knowledgeable. He was also very Cornish which being locals made the experience even more authentic! He explained the history of the mine and what all the buildings and equipment was used for. Sadly the engine house wasn’t open due to storm damage but they expect it to be open in the next couple of weeks. At the end of the tour we watched a short film about the history of mining in Cornwall which was very informative. We also crossed the road to visit Mitchell’s Engine house which was very interesting and great to see inside - would be great to see the beam engine working again one day! The volunteer did mention this could be a possible if NT can raise the money. Thank you for a lovely experience.
