Lovely way to spend the day!

点评：My friend and I took the all day trip to Lake Placid. It's 7 hours from the time you leave the station in Clewiston until the time you return. We had hoped to be in the Biscayne Lounge car but it was sold out so we opted for the Lake Okeechobee (Coach No. 1002). I like to know that seats can be wiped down :-) and we were happy we went with that instead of the cars with vinyl seats. The decades and Florida heat take their toll on upholstered seats.
It was really nice to ride through the sugar cane, along waterways and crossings. We spent the two hours catching up and enjoying free snacks and waters. They also had a nice bar menu but we passed on that. Lake Placid was a cute little town with a great brewery / cider place (Wet Dogs Brewery & Pub), a great coffee/food place (Morty & Ednas Craft Kitchen), a Wine Bar, a Market, and other shops. We could have used more than the 2.5 hours allotted and you will want to plan your time. All too quickly we were back on the train and on our way home.
The staff were great. The conductor stepped out of a movie and the guitar player was a fun treat. Our only issue was with the guy who was directing traffic on the way in. He was unnecessarily rude and adversarial. Unfortunately, he plays Santa so let's hope he's in a good mood that day.
By all means, GO! A slower paced day is just what everyone needs.

工作人员都很棒。列车长就像从电影里走出来的一样，吉他手的表演也很有趣。我们唯一不满意的就是那个负责指挥入口处交通的人——他无缘无故地粗鲁又爱挑刺。遗憾的是，他还要扮演圣诞老人，希望那天他的心情能好一些吧。
绝对值得一去！这样节奏舒缓的一天正是大家所需要的。
