点评：LOUP CAVE: This cave has now been renamed as SANG THONG CAVE. It has a new management group (hence the name change) and has recently be developed as a SHOW CAVE. A pathway and INTERNAL LIGHTING (motion activated) have been installed, providing a safe and enjoyable sightseeing experience. Penetration distance into the cave is approximately 250 meters and the FORMATIONS inside (stalactites and stalagmites) are some of the BEST in the Vang Vieng area. As of MAY 2026, the entry fee for this cave (and Hoi Cave) is 40k Laotian Kip. Note: A headlamp isn’t required as there’s plenty of internal lighting.
HOI CAVE: This cave is a RIVER PASSAGE located approximately 200 meters north of Loup (Sang Thong) Cave. There is no internal lighting or developed pathway. It’s an ADVENTURE CAVE, meaning you’ll need your own lighting to explore it. According to local guides, this passageway is FLOODED during the months of July, and August, and becomes too difficult/hazardous to negotiate. The main passageway is marked by DIRECTIONAL ARROWS down to the internal river. While it is possible to explore this cave independently, the SAFER OPTION is to go with an experienced local guide. According to onsite information, the distance from the cave entrance to the INTERNAL RIVER is 1959 meters. Most of this traverse is easy, flat going. However, there are several LOW ROOF AREAS where you’ll need to go on to hands and knees to get through. The final 500 meters, before arriving at the internal river, is the BEST SECTION of this cave. This is the area with the most IMPRESSIVE FORMATIONS. As of MAY 2026, the entry fee is 40k Laotian Kip (this entry fee covers both caves). Note: Wear sturdy shoes and have proper lighting to explore Sang Hoi Cave.
