点评：I had reached 15 minutes before the first tour of the day scheduled at 12:00 PM for which I already had a reservation. An elderly male staff member (who I later came to know was a docent) saw me enter the grounds and reported my presence to security. The security-in-charge came out of his cabin and stared down at me as if I was trespassing. I walked up to the guard and informed him that I have a tour. He mentioned the hall and gardens were not open yet and told me to wait out in the sun.
Five minutes before the timed tour, I went to the visitor's center and rang the doorbell as it was closed. When there was no response, I went to the gift shop (which also was closed) and decided to wait. One of the staff members finally opened the door of the visitor's center at 11:58 AM and asked me if I needed help. Upon learning that I had a reservation for the tour, she let me in.
Once inside, I saw the same male staff member sitting on a chair and from his viewpoint he would have clearly seen me ringing the doorbell but chose not to open the door.
I checked in at the counter and saw two tourists from England walk in for the same tour. They apparently had already toured the gardens and were now joining the 12:00 PM tour. I did not understand how they were able to walk in the gardens when the site was purportedly closed.
This experience made me feel unwanted. The rest of the tour was mediocre and the docent (who reported me to security) pretended as if nothing happened.
I would not visit this place again and would not recommend it to anybody.
