点评:Seeing the Gateway of India in person was one of the moments I was really looking forward to on my first trip to Mumbai.
We reached there during the evening, when everything was lit up. The Gateway looked beautiful against the night sky, and with the Taj Hotel right beside it, the whole area had such a great atmosphere.
I had seen so many pictures before coming to Mumbai, but standing there in person was completely different. There were people walking around, taking photos, families spending time together and the usual Mumbai energy all around us.
Gurmit told me a little about the history of the Gateway and the area, but what I liked was that he didn't rush me. I had time to walk around, look at the architecture and take my own photos.
The Gateway itself is impressive, but I think what made it special was experiencing it at night. The lights, the old architecture and the busy streets around it really gave me that feeling of being in Mumbai.
I stood there for a few minutes just taking it all in and thinking, finally, I'm actually here.
Definitely a must-see when visiting Mumbai, and even better when you get to experience it with someone who knows the city and can tell you the little stories behind the places.
