点评：Umaid Bhawan Palace is undoubtedly one of the highlights of a Jodhpur visit. The moment you enter the property, you get a sense of the grandeur and scale of this magnificent palace.
The architecture is spectacular, with its beautiful sandstone construction, impressive domes, grand corridors and beautifully maintained gardens. The palace has a wonderful blend of Rajasthani heritage and Art Deco influences, making it quite different from the other forts and palaces you see in Jodhpur.
We particularly enjoyed visiting the museum, which gives you an interesting glimpse into the history of the royal family, their lifestyle and the evolution of the palace. The collection of vintage cars, clocks, photographs, royal artefacts and other displays adds to the experience.
The gardens and outdoor areas are beautiful and extremely photogenic, so do keep some time to walk around rather than rushing through the museum.
One thing to keep in mind is that only a portion of the palace is accessible to visitors, as the property also functions as a luxury hotel and remains a residence of the royal family. So, if you are expecting to explore the entire palace, the visit may feel relatively short.
Overall, Umaid Bhawan is a must-visit for anyone coming to Jodhpur, particularly if you appreciate history, architecture, royal heritage and photography. It is not just another sightseeing attraction—it gives you a fascinating glimpse into the grandeur of Jodhpur's royal past.
