点评:Think of a crowded place in India, and what comes to mind? If it's in Delhi, then the Chandni Chowk district might just be that place. But the crowds are only part of the charm of the district. Locals go there because they know that they can find pretty much all they need there on any given day. Be it financial services, religious obligations, shopping for an essential item or an important upcoming occasion, family-related matters, food - it's almost impossible not to find it here...if one knows where to look. And how much time one spends here might depend on how much one has and how deep one's pockets are.
It was a full-on sensory experience for me for sure. My guide initially took me on a trishaw ride up a main street and down a few side streets. But I went back a week later to wander some of the streets to experience the atmosphere on my own. On both occasions, I was warned by my guide and a complete stranger to keep a close eye on my belongings. And in the crush of the masses, that would be prudent.
