点评：We had an amazing four-day, three-night trip in July 2026 with Johannes Teven (WhatsApp +675 7363 7760) and his crew Frederick (crewboy) and Denmark (boat driver). They were all amazing and very kind and helpful. We paid for Johannes, Frederick and Denmark's time to Johannes, and then paid the extras (fuel, food, entrance fees, accommodation, 4x4 hire) as we went. We went to Wagu to see birds of paradise, and then along the Sepik to see haus tambarans, the Chambri people, pottery making and other facets of village life. I would highly recommend going through a local guide like Johannes rather than a tour operator, in reality the tour operator charges you a high price and then hires someone like Johannes to actually run the trip. Everything was amazing, Johannes is very knowledgeable and a great cook (he cooks all your meals) and knows many people along the river. We felt very safe with him and will miss his sparkling, happy eyes! He used to be a tour company guide but has been out on his own for six years or so. Accommodation was beautiful but basic, the local people are exceptionally friendly. Highly recommended as a trip, it was amazing and we will never forget it ⭐
