点评：We visited this house in September, so it was still open until 5 pm. In October, it will close at 4 pm. We entered the carriage house located at the southeast corner of the property to purchase our entry tickets to the mansion. Two other couples had recently arrived and the employee had just started the introductory video that explained the history of Mr Flavel and the construction of the home. It was helpful to watch the video before taking the self-guided tour through the first two levels of the home. The upper level (attic) and the turret were not open to the public. The home is still the largest home in Astoria. The home is beautifully furnished with period antiques. You can enter some rooms while others are roped off and you can only look into the room from the doorway. Each room has a placard with information about the room’s use by the Flavel’s.
