点评:We had a bit of time on our hands. My wife found the Maritime Museum which sounded like an interesting stop. It’s way, way out of town. We would only have an hour or so there, but since it was free we decided to go.
It turned out to be a nice museum. We were greeted by a friendly woman who told us we had plenty of time to see the highlights. We first went to the Abenaki People exhibit. A nice exhibit depicting the various conflicts since the 1600s. But didn’t tell much about the People, their origins, their lives. Next went to the boat exhibit. Not as extensive as the Adirondack Experience. But felt a bit more authentic with ‘real’ examples of boats used in the area. We enjoyed it a lot. A barn nearby had a lot of outboard motors from their inception to today. Impressive. In our final visit they had a combination underwater archeology-history exhibit. It was interesting how they weaved the archeology and history together, taking lake battles on Lake Champlain with the discovery of sunken boats. Quite nice. A good way to spend an hour and end the day.
