Seahorses, a dhow and a very warm welcome

点评：Eight of us went out with Ilidio — four adults, two teenagers and two five-year-olds — and it was one of the highlights of our time in Mozambique.
The dhow ride was a joy in itself; our daughter loved it and didn't want to get off. The bay is beautiful: big skies, sandbars and water in every shade of blue.
The guides are local fishermen who know exactly where to look, and we saw several seahorses in the seagrass where they live — watched, never handled — along with plenty of other sea life.
Lunch back in Mangalisse village was delicious. The matapa (cassava leaves with peanut, coconut milk and spices) was a hit with all eight of us, children included.
A community conservation project that also happens to run a wonderful tour, and it works beautifully with young children. Huge thanks to Ilidio and our hosts in Mangalisse, who welcomed us into their little corner of paradise.
