点评：Our Tanzania adventure began with a day trek on Kilimanjaro with Hamis as our guide. He immediately impressed us with his confidence, professionalism, and preparation.
After arriving at Kilimanjaro Airport, Daudi drove us to our hotel in Moshi for the night and then to our trailhead the following morning. Before we started our hike, Hamis introduced us to a young man named Daniel and asked if we would mind if he joined us. Daniel was completing his training to become a mountain guide and needed experience alongside a seasoned guide.
We were delighted to have him with us. Under Hamis’ mentorship, Daniel occasionally took the lead, guiding us along the trail and sharing information about the mountain. As strong supporters of education and mentorship, we truly enjoyed being part of Daniel’s learning experience. He was a wonderful addition to our adventure.
Hamis was exceptionally knowledgeable and an outstanding mentor. Throughout the trek, we learned that a mountain guide’s role extends far beyond leading the way. He shared fascinating insights about Kilimanjaro’s environment, wildlife, and the medical aspects of high-altitude trekking. His expertise gave us complete confidence that we were in safe hands while allowing us to fully enjoy the experience.
We are grateful to have spent the day with Hamis and were especially thankful for the unexpected bonus of sharing the journey with Daniel. Together, they made our first day in Tanzania truly memorable.
