Piano buffs will find this a must-visit. Small museum in a home where Liszt lived and taught
Liszt Ferenc Memorial Museum的点评
点评:For anyone interested in classical piano and history.
Ference (Franz) Liszt was born in Hungary and lived here for parts of his life.
This museum is actually in a home in which he lived, and contains various interesting artifacts. There are original scores, letters, odd artifacts (a bronze of his left hand and a marble carving of his right hand), and some pianos on which he played (and with which he toured in Europe).
In these rooms, Liszt gave keyboard lessons to students - next to his full-size Chickering grand piano is a smaller grand piano for the students.
The museum is quite small - really only 3 rooms, but if you are a piano buff, this is definitely worth a visit.
There is an audio available, but we were able to view and see most of the information with a nice laminated english sheet that identified the various items in the rooms.
There is a free cloakroom for bags and coats, and nice restrooms.
