Good spa treatment, but not the authentic Turkish hammam experience I was looking for

点评：I chose Elit Plus because I specifically wanted to experience a traditional Turkish hammam while visiting the Alanya area. Before attending, I contacted the spa and discussed the treatments and package I wanted, so I arrived expecting a Turkish hammam experience rather than simply an international spa treatment.
The facilities were pleasant and the treatment itself was enjoyable. The therapists were professional and I have no criticism of them personally. However, I was disappointed to discover that the people performing the hammam treatments were Indonesian rather than local Turkish hammam attendants.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with Indonesian therapists, and this is not a criticism of their ability or professionalism. My disappointment was simply about authenticity. I had travelled to Turkey and specifically wanted the traditional Turkish hammam experience performed by someone from that tradition. Had I understood beforehand that Elit Plus operated more as an international spa offering Turkish-style hammam treatments, I could have made a more informed choice.
What affected my experience more negatively was the sales process. I felt that one of the treatments was oversold to me while I was there and, when I subsequently questioned what had been agreed, I felt the sales manager tried to suggest that I had misunderstood the conversation. I found this particularly frustrating because I hadn’t requested the additional salt mixes but they were promised to me after I had made an effort to establish what I wanted beforehand.
My advice to other visitors would therefore be to agree your complete package and exact treatments before anything begins, and be very clear about whether you’re looking for a spa experience or a genuinely traditional Turkish hammam.
Overall, I wouldn’t say I received a bad treatment — I didn’t. But it wasn’t the authentic Turkish hammam experience I had specifically been looking for, and the sales experience left me disappointed.
