点评:Walking across the Danube River is a must while in Budapest. The Chain Bridge is a short walk to the Hungarian Parliament Building on the east bank and you can get get great views of the Buda Castle. On the west bank it is a short walk away to the funicular that takes you up to the Castle Quarter. We spent about 20 minutes on the bridge and did a loop to and form the east side because we did a self-guided walking tour that had a lot of stops on the east side. You can enjoy the bridge for free including the lions which date back to 1856 and are recently restored.
We visited Budapest in October and the bridge had Hungarian flags with a hole cut in the middle for National Day and the 1956 Hungarian Revolution against Soviet rule. In the evening the river was lit up in the colours of the Hungarian flag and that was nice to see. We did a dinner cruise along the Budapest River and we would highly recommend this if your group has time because you can get a unique vantage point of the bridge and many other famous landmarks in Budapest. We picked the River Diva boat and it was fantastic for drinks and food but it was a bit expensive.
