点评:A conscientious San Francisco participant in Dr Loren Fishman's online yoga osteo study, I looked forward to his in person study at Kripalu. I am a 79yo Asian who 4/8 paid $560 for his study & 2 night lodging by phone. I was told participants are grouped together in dorm. 5/1, I paid $192 for Thursday night to catch Yo Yo Ma 8/6 at Tanglewood. 8/6 I paid an additional $27 for my Boston friend's dinner totaling $779.
Was Kripalu correct, having me room with 7 Caucasian power yogis, 30-40yo from Philadelphia? I could have been their mother which they did not want. 8/8 They swiped my wallet & dessert, so I had no funds, cards, ID at Tanglewood. Around midnight, I found it hidden in my closet. Stressed & worried, I did not sleep well. Kripalu rule is no alcohol which they enjoyed freely. I gave the manager a couple of the bottles, the picture includes another. He said he would write a complaint. Female security came with the attitude, "No big deal." I was packed checked out 8/9 before 8:30am class. I missed breakfast. Perhaps she could have done a takeout for me. I am 5'1'' not always cutting 100lb. I was recovering from TMJ, needing some substance.
'Kripalu means compassion; this senior was overlooked. My Chinese name means compassion and I am too trusting. A blond, Norwegian asked me to charge her ticket and she would pay me back. I am still waiting. I also complained to Dr Fishman. He knows me, my practice. He thought compensation was due, a refund, free night, at least a letter of apology. Nothing. Hindsight, Dr Fishman has online; I did well in his online study; he has excellent credentials. SF bay area has retreats, in person classes. Kripalu has good food, grounds but did not take responsibility for my care. If they want to limit by age, it should be stated just like no alcohol. Arriving 8/6, despite the heat, I walked up from Lenox to Kripalu excited, looking forward to the retreat. Leaving 8/9, I was not relaxed, renewed but relieved to escape bullying. I stopped back at Tanglewood, the saving grace, and was allowed to go to the gift shop, hearing a little more music as I shopped. Then I continued walking down to the Lenox Peter Pan bus stop returning home.
