点评:The city museum (Stadtmuseum) is located along Vordere Gerbergasse and is a good place to visit for those interested in learning about the rich history of the city of Nordlingen. It is located within the historic Hospital of the Holy Spirit which dates back to the Middle Ages. Opening times are 1.30pm to 4.30pm (Tues to Sun) closed on Mondays. Entry is €5 per adult and includes same-day entry to the nearby Ries Crater Museum (RiesKraterMuseum).
What you find are several floors with exhibitions dedicated to the pre-history archaeological finds in the area, Medieval life and times in Nordlingen as well as the impact of he Thirty Years' War in the 17th-century. There is a nice religious art exhibition on the G/F which has English text information. Otherwise, much of what you see throughout is only accompanied with German text. Just something to be aware of.
Note: Unlike the sister RiesKraterMuseum which provides a tablet with English language information for various displays, there is nothing to assist non-German speakers at the museum. So be ready with your device with translation apps if you want to translate and read displays on the upper floors.
