点评:It was a lovely visit to a fairly new winery that has established itself quickly. We signed up for the food pairing guided experience. Before telling you about the experience, a little background of the winery will help describe our experience. Established in 2021 in Andreas, PA right outside of Jim Thorpe (where we were coming from), stands this woman and veteran owned winery. Co-founders of the winery are Karin Kozlowski and Matt Check. Kozlowski and Check are both certified sommeliers who have experience working in the Pennsylvania wine industry. The owners are inspired by traditional French winemaking and the wine is produced with minimal intervention techniques, which allow the true essence of the grape to come through. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. (willing to answer all our questions) Our server informed us that the staff gets trained by the sommeliers. This makes sense because they were telling us so much about the wines and why each would pair with different foods well.
The seasonal wine pairing is three wines with small dishes. We were there in the Fall so the pairing was comprised with butternut squash soup and stuffed mushroom, I was left amazed how well their Chardonnay Reserve '23 matched with the squash soup. Both reds matched well with the stuffed Mushrooms. It was an enjoyable experience. The rooms are beautifully decorated. A fireplace in one room and the second tasting room is called "the barrel room."
If you are coming to the winery, try to schedule a time to do this pairing. Melissa was a great help. She came over and spent some time talking to us. A very welcoming experience for first timers!
