The Merchant's House的点评
点评：Amazing place! Don't be fooled by the small 'shop front'. Inside is a fantastic property that just keeps opening out and up and to both sides! You'll find a world of panelled rooms, fabulous floorboards bent by time, witch marks on thresholds and fireplaces, quirky facts, interesting artefacts, accessible history and a house that has been a home to lots of different families and businesses for centuries. If you want to visit a real place, that marks a lifetime of local history where families and businesses are woven into its past (rather than a stately hone owned by one family) then you will not be disappointed. Every room has something to tell you about real life in a busy market town.
Run by a team of very informative and friendly folk who clearly (and rightly!) love this remarkable place. And apparently there are ghosts too...so do not miss a visit to the Merchant's House if you're in Marlborough.. you'll have a fascinating time, and you MIGHT just encounter a past resident!
We were absolutely bowled over and hope to come and see the property again in future years as more restoration and discoveries are made. Thank you 'Team Merchant's House' for such a fantastic visiting experience!
