点评:As a child, I adored Cousteau’s films and the books by Darrell and Sakharnov. While studying at university to become an ichthyologist, the most interesting part was collecting hydrobiological samples and then studying them, as well as listening to lectures about the great diversity of fish in the world’s oceans. Getting to work at a marine scientific research station was my dream, but I never thought that reality could surpass it. When I saw information about the BCSS tour, I decided to go without hesitation. And from the moment I arrived on the island, my personal fairy tale began — literally everything here delighted me! The unique nature of this place is stunning in its own right — the azure ocean, the white dunes, the adorable suni deer, the multitude of birds, and, of course, the whales. But the most important thing is the station itself and its people. The cozy buildings of the station and the garden are seamlessly integrated into the landscape, creating a magical atmosphere; everything is convenient and well‑organized. Passionate people work here, and you can feel that this is truly a team. And, of course, the strongest impressions were left by my interactions with Ekaterina Kalashnikova — it’s impossible not to fall in love with her intelligence and charisma! The sea trips, lectures about whales, getting initiated into the station’s work, and simply spending evenings in her company are invaluable) Also, this is where I had my first dive with tanks at Kingfish Alley; I’m grateful to dive master Nelson — it was a really cool experience, and I intend to keep going. I am grateful to our skipper, who made sure that we were dry as much as possible and held on tight during the rolling, and always the first to point out where to look with the eyes of the whales) I am grateful to the chefs for the simple but delicious food - it was doubly delicious after a busy day. A wonderful place, wonderful people, forever in my memory!
