点评:We wanted a good hike and this definitely delivered. The initial part is the steepest but it's all paved. The rest is dirt road but the elevation is more gradual. Very muddy, especially after the hurricane last night. Bring good hiking shoes. I did not and thus had to turn back about 2/3rd of the way up as it got really slippery. Was me looking like a mud monster and almost spraining my ankle twice worth it for the views? 100%. Truly incredible at the viewing platform about half-way up. Would do it again with better shoes.
We read the reviews and came super early (7am) to get a parking spot at the closer parking lot but, even at 10am, there were spots there. We came on a Tuesday in September. Parking is free and the road is well marked. Highly recommend but be prepared.
