点评:We did both the Tower Trail and the Red Beds Trail. The Tower Trail is paved and took us about 30 minutes to walk around the entire monument. The trail is nice so you can read about the history of the monument. The Red Beds Trail is a little farther away from the tower and there will be significantly fewer people on the trail. There were around 100 people on Tower Trail and there were less then 30 people on the Red Beds. The Red Beds Trail is 2.8 miles round trip and it took us 1 hour and 20 minutes with total elevation gain/loss of 425 feet. We actually went counter clockwise (look for the trail sign by the outhouses) and we felt like the elevation gain was a little more gradual on the way back up. Keep in mind more than half of the walk was in the direct sunlight with very little shade and probably half of that section you are overlooking the highway below so you hear the traffic from the road. The path is a mix of dirt and rock and well marked. We went through three bottles of water for two people. We did wear our hiking boots but you could definitely do in tennis shoes too.
