A Wonderful Trip to a Bygone Era
North Yorkshire Moors Railway (nymr)的点评
点评：This has been on my bucket list for at least 15 years and what an experience. From booking tickets on line to arrival at the station at Pickering every thing was a smooth experience.
Firstly parking at Pickering is great, whether in the station car park or parking at Platform 9 which is easily within walking distance of the station. There is ample parking for campervans or motorhomes in the Platform 9 car park, costs in Oct 26 were £10 for the day.
Pickering station is beautifully kept and has a multitude of original features, from the ticket office to the station cafe and even the toilets you are delightfully transported back to a bygone era.
The station staff (Who are volunteers) are very pleasant and knowledgeable about the railway and obviously have a passion rarely seen these days.
The Steam or Diesel engines are beautifully kept and in a lovely condition, riding on the rolling stock carriages was a delight. True to form the train ran a little late as per normal travel on BR in the 60s. 😉😂
We visited the other stations on the line and were very impressed at the workings and engine sheds, all in beautiful order.
At the time of our visit Sir Nigel Gresley Locomotive was on static display and a conversation was had with the engineers who were also full of knowledge and had a passion for their Locomotive.
There are various trains to stir the passion of any enthusiast, steam or diesel pulling carriages including a very nice Pullman serving lunch on the move.
For the model railway enthusiast there are opportunities to buy even more stock at a few of the station shops.
All in all a wonderful visit.

这里有各式各样的列车，足以激起任何铁路爱好者的热情。蒸汽机车或柴油机车牵引着各节车厢，其中有一节非常漂亮的普尔曼车厢，可以在行驶过程中提供午餐服务。
对于模型铁路爱好者而言，还能在车站的几家商店里购买到更多相关模型用品。
