Very lack lustre!!
Ascott Estate的点评
点评：After a few days enjoying some amazing National Trust gardens in Kent, we called in at the Ascott Estate on our way home. It was a rather disappointing visit!
At the entrance we were given the layout of the garden but no mention of the fact that the house was closed!
After a fairly average lunch, we walked down to the house, we tried the front door and it was only when we asked the steward that we realised the house was closed.
The National Trust information said it was open, apparently we needed to check on the Ascott Estate information but we weren’t aware this excisted!
We then carried on to the garden, which all seemed to be lacking a sense of identity.
There was a rather odd slate feature which didn’t seem to relate to anything else, unless of course we missed the information about this?
The only outstanding part of the garden was the view!
I fully understand that National Trust gardens, like many this summer have really struggled with the intense heat. This garden lacked any real character or any story. The whole garden seemed to have no atmosphere, partly due I guess to it being exceptionally quiet.
Other gardens we visited recently were alive with young families enjoying the lovely late sunshine. Sadly this garden does not seem to have made any attempt whatsoever to attract this age group.
I don’t usually want to leave a NT garden but I didn’t feel compelled to stay any longer than necessary at the Ascott Estate and can’t really see us bother returning

整个花园中唯一出色的地方就是景色了！
我完全理解，和今年夏天的许多花园一样，国家信托基金会管理的这些花园也着实经受住了酷热天气的考验。这座花园毫无特色可言，也没有任何故事可讲。整个花园似乎毫无氛围可言，我想部分原因是因为这里异常安静。
我们最近参观的其他花园里，到处都是享受着傍晚暖阳的年轻家庭。遗憾的是，这座花园似乎完全没有试图去吸引这一年龄段的游客。我通常都不想离开国家信托管理的花园，但在阿斯科特庄园，我并不觉得有必要久留，也觉得我们不太可能再回去了。
