Wonderful peaceful enchanting place.
Ampleforth Abbey的点评
点评：Moved to North Yorkshire and exploring local attractions, shops, villages. Came across a sign for Ampleforth Abbey so followed it through the beautiful lanes.
The building is breathtaking, so grand and took our breath away, not what we expected at all especially after seeing so many ruins or smaller buildings on our travels.
This is like something out of a movie
We found the entrance easily and headed to the shop to look around, ther eis also a library and cafe, lots of beautiful items to buy and an information room with things for children to colour in, all the while listening to gregorian chanting music. A peaceful not pressure free place like places of worship should be.
Then out to the grounds to have a wander, we didn't speak to anybody but the signs were easy enough to the church. The wooden door with iron studs was closed but upon trying the handle found it open.
Inside was a surprised, very large inside, high quite plain on the walls but with beautiful detailing on the stain glass windows and alter, these made it very special. We joined a group who were being spoken to by the monk/priest not sure who he was and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Left a donation of £15 at the end as I think we were part of a tour which was around £7 or something although not sure if this included the school too, and they had to take names due to safeguarding
We then went to the garden outside.
What a wonderful place to visit and I will take my son soon as like his father, is a Catholic who enjoy learning about their faith as much as possible.

教堂内部空间宽敞，高耸入云，墙壁虽然朴素，但彩色玻璃窗和祭坛上的精美细节却让这里显得格外特别。我们加入了一个由一位僧侣/神父（我不确定他是谁）带领的小组，感觉非常棒。
最后我们捐了15英镑，因为我记得我们参加的是一个旅行团，费用大概是7英镑左右，不过我不确定这是否包括参观学校，而且他们出于安全考虑需要登记姓名。
之后我们去了外面的花园。
真是个好地方！我打算尽快带儿子去，因为他像他父亲一样，是个天主教徒，喜欢尽可能多地了解自己的信仰。
